Marius Mihalache & Band Concert, ro19eu

On the occasion of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Embassy of Romania to the Republic of Slovenia is inviting you to a concert performed by Marius Mihalache and Band, on Friday, 28 June 2019, at 19:00, at Bled Festival Hall.
Marius Mihalache is the best cimbalom player (a type of hammered dulcimer found mainly in Central and Eastern Europe), artist and composer from Romania, known as the absolute maestro of cimbalom “The Magician of the Cimbalom”, graduate songwriting and film score at Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA.
He writes music for film and theatre, over twenty-nine years of experience in performing, runs international and national master classes about songwriting, film scores and history of the cimbalom, improvisation and performance techniques.
He shared the stage with many famous artists such as Chick Corea, Gloria Gaynor, Nina Simone, Kitaro, Steve Vai, Mike Stern, Boo Boo Davis, Billy Cobham, Sergio Mendez, Larry Coryell, Philip Catherine, more.
Winner of numerous awards for interpretive virtuosity since childhood, at 17 plays on the dulcimer Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Schuman, Schubert and Mozart raising thousands of SCALA DI MILANO applause.
Marius Mihalache was the subject of a reportage made by CNN and Discovery Chanel.
He was invited several times to perform at the headquarter of the Organization of United Nations, in the presence of the state’s chiefs, participants at the Summit.
He performs a concert at the White House, celebrating 100 years of independence of the state of Panama, in the presence of high ranking officials from most world countries, including president G.W. Bush.
He also performed at Kennedy Center in Washington DC – Millennium Stage, Belgium -BOZAR, Vietnam – Hanoi Opera House, Belgium – European Parliament, Austria – Viena Opera, and more.
In 2018 is where his last Balkanic project called Saftita (meaning “a good start” in Romanian) comes out, and it has a great success.
His music has pushed Balkan rhythms to interesting extremes by creating a fusion of popular music from Romania with traditional music from the Balkans and modern beets, with traditional Romanian instruments.

ROOTS is a balkanic project, a music conception belonging to the famous international artist Marius Mihalache. His music has pushed Balkan rhythms to interesting extremes by creating a fusion of popular music from Romania with traditional music from the Balkans and modern beets, with traditional romanian instruments.
At the end of the show we want to stay in hearts with the love of Romania and the Romanians, a love that unites us through music.
